Biography

Brighde Lewis' emergence as an artist began in 2009 with the presentation of an Excellence Award in the Creative Generation, Excellence Awards in Visual Art and Design. Her work was included in the 2010 exhibition at GoMA, and continued its display in a touring exhibition that visited regional Queensland galleries. Upon graduation from high school she enrolled in Fine Art at the Queensland College of Art. During her years studying at QCA her art practice has predominantly focused on the relationship between humans and animals, occasionally exploring the parallel between the digital world and natural world but mostly the imbalances between the rights of different species has held her focus.
