STOP 4: Renewing the Everyday

The Goodwill Bridge sustains a steady flow of traffic throughout the day connecting the busy city centre to the Southbank Parklands. It is our intention to artistically engage with the numerous pedestrians that use this bridge. In the five alcoves, along the length of the bridge, we plan to temporarily install multiple cardboard sculptures. The aim of these sculptures is to break the public’s transitory purpose on the bridge and generate a moment of cultural awareness. The employment of cardboard was intended to highlight that art can be recycled and made from everyday materials. Art is not elitist, art is for everyone.
